Responsibilities
Job Summary: The training specialist is primarily responsible for assisting in the coordination of various research specific trainings and projects. Day-to-day activities may include all or some of the essential functions listed below, depending upon individual experience / knowledge and the needs of the organization which are subject to change from time to time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides technical assistance, troubleshoot, and provide solutions associated with issues related to delivery of content
- Inventories and maintains a resource library with information and documentation needed to educate and train the department
- Demonstrates accountability for customer service and professional behavior through personal work ethic, teamwork, and effective communication skills
- Prepares training documentation, such as training manuals, notes, questionnaires, and other support materials.
- Distributes course catalogs, processes registration, and answers routine inquiries regarding courses and schedules.
- Obtains, assembles, and distributes course materials and teaching aides as required for each type of program.
- Coordinates and arranges for the use of audio visual and other necessary equipment, finds and arranges for appropriate space and facilities for training, makes catering arrangements for meals and refreshments, and ensures housekeeping, maintenance, and repairs are taken care of.
- Sends training notifications to participants, informing them about training demands and other important aspects.
- Prepares appropriate forms, correspondence, memoranda, and records regarding course attendance, feedback on programs, instructors, etc.
- Keeps records about each training course and prepares reports and statistical summaries.
- Prepares and distributes training certificates for participants or attendees when appropriate.
- Maintains and may reorder training material, teaching aides, and information on outside programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned by direct supervisor and/or Research Leadership
- Hosts other Retina Consultants of America practices. This can include assisting in creating the agenda for the trip, ensuring travel is booked, hotels are booked, training materials are printed, meals are ordered and ready for the site visit.
- Required to travel within the Region and possibly outside of the Region on rare occasions for events
- Performs other duties as assigned by direct supervisor and/or Research Leadership
Skills/Competencies:
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to multitask in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) adobe, Camtasia, and similar solutions
- Task and detail oriented.
- Experience creating training material to include presentations both in-person and virtually
- Technology skills with Smartphones, iPads, and any required apps for training
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or one to two years of experience in a related field.
Experience Requirements:
- 1-3 years progressive experience in training program design and delivery
Physical Abilities:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to write
- Must be able to travel to and from different office locations (RCTX and RCA)
- Must be able to communicate via telephone
